Car battery — Part 2 of 3
Remove the hold-down bracket that secures the battery in the tray. Lift the old battery out with both hands and keep it upright.
Clean corrosion from the tray with a wire brush and baking soda solution. Dry the area before placing the replacement battery.
Seat the new battery with terminals oriented to match the cables. Secure the hold-down snugly without overtightening.
Connect the positive terminal first, then the negative — the reverse of removal.
